US arrests two men in alleged plot to assassinate Myanmar’s UN envoy

US legislation enforcement officers allege that Phyo Hein Htut communicated through the conspiracy with an arms seller based mostly in Thailand who sells weapons to Myanmar’s navy, referred to within the FBI’s prison criticism as “CC-1”.

Kyaw Moe Tun thanked the US authorities, the US ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield and her staff, and safety companies “to your relentless efforts, help and help prolonged to me”.

A Thai authorities spokesman declined to touch upon Saturday on the alleged involvement of a Thailand-based arms seller within the plot, saying he was ready for info.
