Qatar urges Taliban to cease fire at meeting in Doha – Middle East Monitor

Qatar stated it had urged the Taliban to stop hearth and pull again their offensive in Afghanistan throughout a gathering between the Qatari overseas minister and a prime consultant of the Afghan insurgents in Doha on Saturday, Reuters studies.

Overseas Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met the pinnacle of the Taliban’s political bureau, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, to comply with up on peace talks hosted by the Gulf nation, the Qatari overseas ministry stated in a press release on its web site.

“The overseas minister urged the Taliban on the assembly to let up the escalation and to stop hearth,” it stated.

Envoys from america, China, Pakistan, the United Nations, the European Union and others met Taliban representatives and Afghan authorities officers on Thursday in Doha.

The assertion issued following that assembly reaffirmed that overseas capitals wouldn’t recognise any authorities in Afghanistan “imposed by means of the usage of navy power”.
