Giving a “salute” to the German navy who bought him out of Afghanistan, a British businessman stated he touched down at Frankfurt airport on Thursday after a harrowing couple of days attempting to flee Kabul. The person, who didn’t want to give his identify for safety causes, had fled to the airport together with 1000’s of others after Kabul fell to the Taliban on Sunday.
Chaotic scenes unfolded with gridlocked streets, capturing and panic as overseas nationals and Afghan staffers tried to get in another country.
The businessman who had been working in Kabul on and off for 12 years described the uncertainty and concern contained in the airport as conflicting data unfold and the chaos elevated.
“Inside just a few hours there was a panic contained in the terminal saying the Taliban has taken over the airport and they’re going to are available in, so all of the workers on the airport together with the pilots and those that have been issuing the boarding passes, the cleaners, all people left and there have been like tons of of individuals, not simply from Britain, from Germany, from america, from all all over the world together with Afghans. We bought stranded there.”
