Beijing: Claiming the southern a part of Tibet to be an “inherent half” of its territory, China on Friday defended the renaming of 15 extra locations in India’s northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh.
“The southern a part of Tibet belongs to the Tibetan Autonomous Area of China and it has been China’s inherent territories,” Chinese language Overseas Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian informed a media briefing in Beijing whereas responding to India’s assertion, PTI reported.
The Chinese language Overseas Ministry spokesman mentioned the “folks of various ethnic teams have been dwelling in that space for a few years and have given many names for that areas”.
“For standardised administration of the realm, the competent authorities in China in accordance with related rules have printed the names for the related space. These are issues that’s inside China’s sovereignty,” Zhao mentioned.
Earlier on Thursday, India strongly rejected China renaming 15 locations in Arunachal Pradesh.
Reacting to China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs saying Chinese language names for 15 extra locations in Arunachal Pradesh which Beijing claims as South Tibet, New Delhi asserted that the state has “all the time been” and can “all the time be” an integral a part of India and that assigning “invented” names doesn’t alter this truth.
“Now we have seen such. This isn’t the primary time China has tried such a renaming of locations within the state of Arunachal Pradesh. China had additionally sought to assign such names in April 2017,” Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Arindam Bagchi mentioned in New Delhi.
Asserting “Arunachal Pradesh has all the time been, and can all the time be an integral a part of India”, he added: “Assigning invented names to locations in Arunachal Pradesh doesn’t alter this truth.”
That is the second batch of standardised Chinese language names of locations in Arunachal Pradesh launched by China. The primary batch of the standardised names of six locations was launched by China earlier in 2017.
China claims Arunachal Pradesh as South Tibet.
That is firmly rejected by New Delhi, which has asserted the state is an “inseparable a part of India”.
