Let me preface this with I don't think authoritarianism is good. That said the CCP is managing to make it worse. After watching several videos about China, not just the bashing ones, I realize the core technical problem the CCP has is that the high ranking officials hold the power, but don't take the actual responsibility. It's like children playing, but with real world ramifications. What I mean is they see a problem, they think up what would fix the problem, and decree that lower officials must achieve said thing. They don't put in the work to find out if it is achievable, they don't look at how decisions interact with the system as a whole, or any of the boring things that go into good policy. Of course I can say America is on a similar road and perhaps we should see this as a warning. Not against Communism, via going back to the thought pioneers. This is to condemn the, now prevalent, practise of politicians crowing about hollow bills or meaningless gestures. I am condemning politicians spending more time fundraising then reading/researching the bills they vote on. Sorry someone needed to point out staff should be gathering data and summarizing constituent's concerns, instead of summarizing bills and spin doctoring.

The amount of food required is in proportion of the size of the population. Soon countries with stupid numbers are going to struggle and many will starve, usually the less fortunate or undesired based upon some arbitrary logic. The population of this planet as it is even now is unnecessary for the survival of the human species. So how long will it be before it becomes necessary to control breeding and start culling. Humans will run out of food, starve and die , resort to conflict and or destroy / consume the planet's ecosystems, thus cause their own extinction leaving the planet to cockroaches ( if they survive). This planet doesn't need or even want's us.

Not perticually worried about food shortages. A rise in prices now will only make vertical farming viable sooner and stimulate building them sooner. Making us more resilient to climate change.
