Harvard alumnus Shailesh Kumar Singh joins MSME Ministry as new Development Commissioner

Ease of Doing Enterprise for MSMEs: Shailesh Kumar Singh, the Further Chief Secretary cum Principal Secretary to Jharkhand Governor has been appointed as the brand new Further Secretary and Growth Commissioner on the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The appointment was accredited by the Appointments Committee of the Cupboard, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on Tuesday.

The 1991 batch IAS accomplished his BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1988 and Masters in Public Administration in Worldwide Growth from Harvard College in 2019, in keeping with his LinkedIn profile. Singh was Joint Secretary in Coal Ministry between 2012 and 2015 and Chief Vigilance Officer at Metal Authority of India until April 2017. 

Singh changed Devendra Kumar Singh who was the Further Secretary and Growth Commissioner at MSME Ministry from Might 18, 2020, until September 23, 2021, in keeping with the DC MSME portal. Shailesh Kumar Singh is the 31^st Growth Commissioner since 1954, as per the federal government information.

Singh was among the many 13 new appointments throughout varied ministries and departments accredited on Tuesday. This comes over 4 months after MSME Ministry had appointed Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officer Mercy Epao as the brand new Joint Secretary (JS) – SME Division. Epao was elevated to the JS rank from her earlier place because the Director – SME Division on the MSME Ministry the place she was managing the Worldwide Cooperation part, Coordination part, EDI part, and Media cell. Beforehand, Epao was the Director on the Ministry of Growth of North Japanese Area. 

At the moment, there are two Further Growth Commissioners within the MSME Ministry – Ishita Ganguly Tripathy who takes care of MSME coverage & its governance together with Public Procurement Coverage and Nationwide MSME Board and Sonia Pant who’s incharge of Autonomous Our bodies (HR & Institution) and (TC & Device Rooms), Know-how Centre System Programme (TCSP), Widespread Infrastructure (Cluster Growth Programme), and so forth. Deepak Rao is the Joint Growth Commissioner taking care of the price range, schemes equivalent to Credit score Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme, Curiosity Subvention Scheme, Credit score Assure Scheme, and Credit score Monitoring Cell aside from Nationwide Awards and extra.
