Australia is a smalll nation.
Actually the subs purchase not an issue, had it not come with AUKUS (TRIPLE ENTENTE). Now whole ASEAN in jitters about this, and last thing we want is WAR.
Our mind still fresh about Hitler with its axis that precede the WW2, so stop that AUKUS thing, we don't like any countries exporting war to Asia.
If the USA is serious about climate change why are they banning Chinese Electric Vehicle Company BYD from the USA market ???
The century of China's humiliation is not about nationalism it is about their history.
ASEAN and CHINA are now very close economically and strategically.
China is no threat to Australia.
Western media is full of lies about China as is this program.
The country that occupied most islands and first to militarize them is Vietnam, look it up. South China Sea and freedom of navigation is just a pretext to contain China.
All you need to know is that ABC has openly and unconditionally supported the United States.
9 dash line has no decent base other than unilateral claim from China as confirmed at the UN tribunal. However, without western powers interference, China has crushed any neighboring countries that challenge that claim. With its growing military power China may surpass the US. When that happens, what will prevent China from finding another map with 1000 dash line that cover an area which includes your country? Or some other made up reasons to include your territory as China’s and thus become their domestic affair.
As an ANU scholar, she’s obviously speaking on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party. I wonder if she’s still a party member?
Wow look at all the Chinese bots your it's here in Australia are about to destroy your next this will be God's will
Judging from most of the comments below, I find that most comments are adverse one on those quests with the exception of one. They should do their homework , particularly on China, before coming to this kind of panel discussion.
If the Chinese don’t like it in Australia, they can go back to China.
chinese people are not the problem its the ccp harming other people, tibet, muslims, taiwanese, hong kong , burma brutan
The lady said China is bullying Australia, she does know who started the bullying towards China first, it is Australia instead.
Drop New Zealand !!!
Leave Aussie alone !
Get the mongral mob out of Aussie !
So you let Jacinda Ardern and the crown with other clubs In Aussie what about the hells Angels all because they didn't want to fight in a sick war !!
China first
Bring back the old QandA
I am from Malaysia I think most Southeast Asian think USA were the threat and China is our neighbour. Malaysia Ex Prime Minister Dr Mathadir said in one of the summit saying that Malaysia had been neighour with China for thousands of year and China had never colonise Malaysia.
Intrudi
I find Q & A impossible to watch these days. At the end of the day, China make (in general) very poor quality products that don't last which is therefore anti environment – wastes resources and energy. As for wind turbines, they have to run for 120 years to make back the same amount of energy it took to make and erect them!
Anti-China Propaganda in Australia is funded by the American Military Industrial Complex, Falun Gong and the Evangelical Church!!! Stan Grant is Compromised as he is a Member of ASPI!!!
Leave china alone morrison n dutton…when you had divorced.dont speak ill or run down yr ex spouse..thats not fairdinkum!!
Australia is american toy
USA politicians are untrustworthy…talked one thing but do another….still provoking China.
Australia blindly followed USA against China…not as wise as New Zealand.
Forget about putting 90 billion dollars into submarines. We have a more urgent and pressing situation with unaffordable housing and shortages, our Australian citizens need a roof over there heads today not tomorrow. Our Social system is in dire need and it's been running away for the past 30 years, liberals and Labor have been asleep at the wheel, now it's time to sweat catch up time. If there was to be a War, new submarines won't save us, planes won't save us, The US can't save us. What is the main option then? It's called peace and learning to blend in with a culture that we can all benifit from. Chinese got blamed for buying all the baby formula in Australia.
Australians could also learn how to work like a community consortium to buy up baby formula and distribute to its own community in stead of criticising negatively of Chinese Australians.
Indigenous and white Australians can learn to live with each other in positive way. Australia must learn to be constructive not destructive.
Australia must never forsake its peace of the Taiwan issue. It's imperative we have an Australian leader willing to go to China shake hands and make friends with Zhi.
This is the way of showing true international leadership. Remember Australia must never learn to be a bully either. Otherwise we might be called a boofhead by Albo.
yOU DONT TRUST ccp .
Compare what the British did during the Opium "WAR" with what is happening between China Australia is ignorant and pathetic. China was being invaded as a matter of history, while millions and millions of Australians and Chinese benefited from the wonderful relationships between the 2 countries in the past 20 – 30 years….
When you treat others as enemies, what they do is in vain. Does Australia like war very much?
An unbalanced comment by individuals
1. gentleman next to Chinese lady .
– Xi offer to Obama is on condition that US retreat from 1st island chain back to Guam inorder not for China to militaries her own islands .Obama never accept the the offer hence there was never any promises .all other claimants also militaries those islands but all the whites keep quiet about this fact
– Indian women never says ASEAN do not want to take sides on US and China .
She lied that Asean welcome AUKUS as she never says both Malaysia and Indonesia voiced objections to AUKUS as it brought nuclear weapons to this region and possibly an arm race
Lastly they claim Chinese spies and apologies in Australia but the panels forget to mention Gringos spies and puppets are all over Australia including parliament The Wolverines and the ASPI funded by the Gringos !
In reply to the Indian Narrator, she made fabricated evidence without real time evidence accusing China creating chaos in the South China Sea. She forgot to do more research and hearing too much US Narration creating a scenario without a true cause for peace & harmony. That said she became a lap dog of US.
Simple If the CCP stop bullying and controlling there own people and other countries the world would be a better place .
Sure thing. U politician can paint a glossy image if things world wide. As south east ssian, we felt this hippocratic attitude of white to white. When ever u see the opposing person is white, the attitude is still less patronising that the other person is non white. This attitude of white looking after the white is very hipoocratic. U politician can see what u want in camera but off camera, attitude is different.
I do think Australia began the bullying by shutting out its tech companies. China's fear of intervention of other powers I think is very justified. The move of Australia to long range attack submarines rather than a defensive fleet is one example of direct threat.
First Australia was a British vassal state and now is an American vassal state. I'm sure we'll be quite happy as a Chinese vassal state after the American Empire collapses. As long as we don't have to make our own decisions we're good
I don't agree with the Chinese lady on the panel. She is drawing a false equivalence between China and the US in terms of bullying. I've lived in Japan and Singapore, and traveled around much of Asia, including Vietnam. People in those countries side with the US in general. The reason is because of values and trust. America sure isn't perfect, but it believes in freedom. China does not. Nor does it believe in transparency. Don't argue about bullying based on size of country. That's not the full story. Consider the values of the country you choose to align with.

most of the comments on this video are funded by the CCP – and no, that isn't even a joke, do australians every bother watching qanda anymore?
personally i don't bother with MSM, honestly I'd prefer to pay 5c less in taxes than to fund the likes of the ABC and SBS, public broadcasters are obsolete in the information age, plug should have been pulled a decade ago, higher and more diverse content is a click away, you didn't even get a expert in geopolitics on the panel
17:00 you have no right to participate in a hearing setting australian policy if you aren't loyal to australia
it's simple, if you denounce the CCP then you are proving that your loyalty is not with the CCP – there is nothing controversial about this, it should be the price of admission when trying to mould australian policy – we are in Australia governing Australians
Is it only me or is the australians the most un grateful people in the world
In the past, Australia has been dependent on the United States and the United Kingdom and has stood on the same side of these two countries in almost everything, and seems to be proud of it.
i cant believe the crap these people are kissing chinas ass stop it im from united kingdom my goverment wont speak about china the murderers who haved killed millions with covid united kingdom are cowards shame on uk i have so much respect for australia for standing up to bullys australia once china attacks taiwon australia will be next you are on there hit list united kingdom and america will always stand by there brother and sisters australia we will never leave your side xi xi ping is the new adolf hitler god help the world
I will say this, as much as scomo backflips on previous policies, he wasn’t wrong about BEVs. Fact is we cannot put out EV chargers in the middle of nowhere. For long rage “weekend” activities, we will need hydrogen vehicles which can travel much farther distances. EVs are good for passenger inner city travel but long distance into the outback, it’s not viable as of now. His gov has been emphasising hydrogen as an every transmission source, but scomo shouldn’t have attacked EVs like that without actually explaining what he was talking about. He’s just shit at explaining to be honest.
The funny thing is that frankly speaking I don’t often hear the term foreign interference being referenced in Chinese news as much as by the Australian news. So maybe I am wrong but I don’t think China is the country being overly sensitive or even paranoid in this regard
