China has hit again at Australia after issues have been raised over a possible navy cope with the Solomon Islands.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison insisted he wasn’t blindsided by the transfer.
The deal would see China dramatically enhance its navy presence within the Indo-Pacific area with a possible base on the Solomon Islands for its defence forces, which might see warships stationed simply 2,000km from Australia’s shoreline.
After issues have been raised from politicians on each side inside Australia, the Solomon Islands authorities defended the transfer while China’s International Ministry spokesperson labelled Australia as being “irresponsible”.
“We hope that the events concern will have a look at it objectively and calmly and never overinterpret it,” Chinese language International Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin mentioned.
“Some politicians on the Australian aspect have printed some fallacies of so-called Chinese language coercion and intentionally created an environment of stress, which is extraordinarily irresponsible and doesn’t assist regional stability and improvement.”
