As Ottawa police start their operation within the metropolis’s downtown core to finish the trucker protest, which has occupied town for weeks, International’s Sean O’Shea walks by the sealed-off space the place demonstrators are gathered.
He experiences police have created round 100 checkpoints within the downtown space to make sure solely those that dwell or work within the core can enter.
At a press convention Thursday, Ottawa’s interim police chief, Steve Bell, says this weekend the downtown will look “very completely different” from the previous three.
