Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is warning Russia could deploy nuclear weapons to the Baltic area if Sweden and Finland be part of NATO. His feedback come at some point after the prime ministers of Sweden and Finland spoke collectively about presumably becoming a member of the navy alliance — a transfer many thought was unthinkable earlier than Russia invaded Ukraine. Agnes Hellström, president of the Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society, calls the NATO debate in Sweden “slender,” saying “it’s been the one choice offered to us by the media,” and calls the proposed answer a “reflex” constructed up from a “massive quantity of concern after the invasion of Ukraine.”
