Louisiana has begun to see storm surges, flooding and excessive winds as Hurricane Ida makes landfall within the state as a Class 4.
The governor, John Bel Edwards, warned earlier this weekend that the storm may very well be the state’s worst direct hit by a hurricane for the reason that 1850s.
Ida gained power early Sunday because it handed over the northern Gulf of Mexico, rising wind speeds to 150 miles per hour or 230 kilometres per hour.
