Hu Xijin, the editor of state-affiliated International Occasions, has warned Taiwan it could not obtain safety from the US. The warning comes following the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan and the seize of Kabul.
He tweeted: “After the autumn of the Kabul regime, the Taiwan authorities have to be trembling.
“Don’t look ahead to the US to guard them.”
Referring to China’s Individuals’s Liberation Military, Mr Hu added: “Taipei officers must quietly mail-order a 5-Star Crimson Flag from the Chinese language mainland.
“It is going to be helpful sooner or later after they give up to the PLA.”
Beijing regards Taiwan as a breakaway province which have to be reunited with the Chinese language mainland.
On Tuesday, the democratically dominated island nation launched a collection of army drills which noticed warships and fighter jets exercising off its southwest and southeast areas.
China stated the drills have been triggered by “exterior interference” and “provocations”.
In an announcement, the PLA’s Jap Theatre Command stated warships, anti-submarine plane and fighter jets had been deployed near Taiwan.
It defined their mission was to conduct “joint hearth assault and different drills utilizing precise troops”.
