Voguing, and the ballroom scene that gave rise to the dance style, had been began in New York Metropolis within the Eighties by Black and Latinx queer people looking for a spot to be themselves. And now, the ballroom tradition has taken roots in China, making a a secure area for LGBT youths to specific queerness and discover one another.

This is so beautiful and cool. Everything out of China doesn't have to negative.
watched rupaul, watched pose netflix, i don't get it why would one go through all that trouble, but, the final outcome, i only can appreciate the art side of it. Some came out beautiful prop, and some really spark ideas for my concept art. And to learn and realizing wow, it does exist today – ok, cool. And watching this……. many may not get it, how even you give score even…. still end of the day….. very artsy. Its like watching cosplayers and that's where i feel erm hmm… common ground indeed. Oh and what surprise me was…… ok, so madonna the reason why vogue was so popular perhaps…. next…. fashion show have this kinda dance and people enjoy it…. ow, again… from ballroom HAHHAHAHA see…. its art…. meant to produce and inspire other art forms.
Love it freedom to be me
This is beautiful
Useful for a great laugh, ALWAYS
"Paris is Burning" is a good documentary on the NY vogueing scene of the 80's.
CCP GOING TO JAIL THEM FOR CONVERSION
WOW this is fantastic. The Underground will ALWAYS be The Underground, & it is fabulously sickening. The demimonde of Shanghai has always been such.
Glad that VICE is covering this & showing the world what modern China is. It's not just rice fields, polluted factory towns & concentration camps. Although, people who still choose to think China is like that probably won't give a damn about LGBTQ+ youth either.
O___o
中国的同志们加油!
I wish Vice would get facts straight, ballroom became popular in the 80s but it started way before then.
I love the fact that Asians from what I've seen don't care if what they do is "Asian", if they want to do it and they do it. I wish certain groups in the U.S. adopted this freeing philosophy.
This shouldve been longer! Loved it!
America is the DEVIL
All love and respect for all of my brothers, sisters, and non-gender conforming siblings from different parents across the globe.
Man I’d love to be front row at one of their Vogue events!! 😍😍
HONEY BOO BOO CHIIIIIIIILLLE. GIRLS. GET IT. 💕💕
So we have seen African American, Latino, and other Queer cultures. Is there such thing as “White” queer culture? Are there any pockets of Caucasian gays/queers that cannot express themselves openly, and so, have developed an underground culture? Has their story been told yet? I love all of you so very much, all aspects of the gay gem must be seen. 💎
I have a question, what does communist party think of this? Is there pressure on the gay community? Sending love to my chinese brothers and sisters ❤
CCP: time to ban this… 😗
I worry about their safety given the ongoing changes and increased governmental controls .we have seen.
Love this video 😎,it's very interesting, what matters is love nothing else 🤔

BLACK PEOPLE WE ARE THE BLUEPRINT 🤌🏾🤌🏾
Yess I love it! I’m not apart of the community but it good to c ppl happy 🥰
It would be so cool if groups from NYC or other places in the US came to China to dance. I would love to see that!!
Seeing people so happy in a place where the majority want to stamp that part out of them is so beautiful
As a queer Chinese person in the diaspora this stirred something deep in me
