The six-day stranding of the Ever Given within the Suez Canal final March did one thing extremely uncommon: it made common individuals care about delivery, the means by which greater than 80% of the world’s items are transported. It took just one unsuitable flip for the container ship to deliver a vital buying and selling artery to a standstill. That is how a $1 billion value of cargo acquired caught, freed and impounded because the courts took over.

How funny that those with the inside scoop are always YouTube experts.
To bad they didn't call Godzilla.
Hahah. Hilarious his line at the end “…the world realized how fragile shipping is”.
When I heard the news I thought “that sucks for them”. I didn’t think “omg they are going to cause so much mental discomfort to customers and businesses”.
First two people to speak from Bloomberg… so right away it had a fishy story…
6:54 So he thinks the wind will effecy 220,000 tonnes… hmmm…
How many ships were behind the ever given… and how away were they… because these ships don't stop like a car brakes… at what time did the next ship captain know the ever given was stopped?…
10:10 I see what you did there
I wish the evergiven was still stuck 😢
Not really an 'inside" story as much as it was a recap of all the publicly reported things about the incident
So it was Bernoulli all along!
evergiven??
The Suez Pilots know the canal like the palm of their hand, they are being paid in accordance with the tonnage of the ship, and yet, in the end, the ship's captain is responsible for every mistake that the pilot made and the Pilot who piloted the Evergreen still receive a bottle of whisky and a carton of cigarettes and that's the burden of every ship's captain every time they arrive/sail in any ports of call.
One hopes that using English makes life and communication easier with this world media incident, not an accident.
Considering how every businessman you ask is going to tell you to diversify, it's hilariously funny that the entire global supply chain relies on one 200 meter wide canal through a desert — this had to go wrong eventually.
Any prostitution in that area
tell me more about the argument on the bridge. why aren’t the transcripts released? who is holding that information? why is the Suez authority not held accountable for the actions of it’s Pilots? Many unanswered questions here…..
You talk about people that lost money because of this.
Those people that supposedly lost money during this don’t bother me one bit. Those people have more money than they will ever need.
Those people have insurance and never will lose a penny.
The Egyptian people have a barter system that revolves on pure bribery.
Why do the reporters keep saying "Ever given" when the video of the ship clearly shows the name ON the ship is "Evergreen"…???
😂
Biggest important question left out by Bloomberg…Who paid the Suez Canal Authority their unjust demand?
Answer: the owners of the cargo, under the General Average principal! What a flipping liberty. So unjust, because the pilots caused the grounding.
Nice jobs,thanks share
Two. Ever Given AND Ever Ace are now cruising the oceans. Is the "Ever Ace" even allowed yet to pass the suez canal as well because it is so massive? (in the wake of what has happened already) ?
we need journalist perspective from Egypt also
suez canal is we call it marlboro canal
because all the time the Egyptian pilots demands marlboro cigarettes eleven packs of it
Well, first of all this report is making it sound like it was the Egyptians fault , which if it was the case ,they wouldn't have got a settlement, period.
Second of all , it doesn't mention how this was a very complicated operation that was supposed to take maybe months , and the Egyptians were able to solve it in 6 days.
Finally what do you expect from a western media report about a "not a western" country !
erosion will always be as Africa landslides. it means more maitence. you can't stop earths tectonic plates and you don't hire California and Japanese engineers? sand and water is one of the most labor intensive as wind blows it in and the hole smoothens out. thats not global warming.
egyptain pilots case closed
the only thing i take away from all that was that canals should be twice as wide as the cargo ships are long 🤣
Let’s see……Egyptian pilots caused the accident and Egypt made money. What a scam!
It was no mistake it was done on purpose look who's made money off it
Your thumbnail says "EVERGREEN"
That is the ship stuck in the Chesapeake River 6 months later. Coincidence?
Its easy for you guys to come up with a conclusion that sandstorms was not the main reason why it got stuck, but when winds of such high force hit the windage area of such a huge ship in such a narrow canal, it becomes impossible to control the ship. So just to highlight your story you cant just say that it wasn’t just the sandstorm which got the ship stuck.
At 13:55 he mentioned that more water means more buoyancy, but I just can’t wrap my head around that. How does the amount of water matter? Doesn’t it depend on the density of water and the volume of object?
Hmm another global inconvenience caused by communist and terrorist? Who would of guessed
I love the way the guy complains, "it was only by…." actually getting a few facts that he was able to get a few facts.
Sheesh.
Yes I'm still waiting for my Pants to arrive
I had to go to church ..commando.😁
The Chinese Communist Party Paid the corporation and captain to do this to disrupt trade to the west why has no one brought up this fact
it was intentional, not just to wake us up to on dependence on "Fake Trade" "Fake Money" but for others to find in the containers the dead humans and "children" trafficking to be exposed! many ships crimes repeated are going unnoticed there is no security teams for such….global issue…. stop the steal..
Evergiven call sign: H3RC. Tugboat named BARAKA1. Nothing to see here? Nothing found in any containers?
Imagine getting this kind of bill
The boat name is ever green why they say ever given ??? It's like looking the name in the plate and says dog and you spell pig ???
So who’s vault was it Bloomberg? Sounds like the pilots but didn’t provide definitive answer.
Why didn't they push the rear of the ship around to clear foe some of the smaller ships? Like tow trucks do Semis?
The court of egypt was hyper to charge fines now days containers will go above 25000usd where it was 1200usd 🤬🤬🤬
