I'm Canadian,
I feel Australia has Not much of muscle to flex over China.
Besides, a few items China needs from Australia.
Australia should not Carry a head than your shoulder.
It's ok you holding USA's leg for comfort ??

Australia had the chance to become the Switzerland of the Pacific and claim a leadership role for the first time in history by mediating between China and the US. Instead, policy makers decided to take sides and join hostilities against China.
Now we need to be consequential and wait to see how this plays in time. Other countries like Singapore or New Zealand will take advantage of the opportunity that Australia had and refused to take.
Lets be really clear. China took pies from west powers including Australia. Thats the only reason they are against it. If China is small and weak, probably will be like another puppet of west….No moral high ground….especially… Australia… Jesus Christ
Lavina, has little knowledge of history, let alone little geographic knowledge. You think Tibet and Xinjing were independent regions of China? Taiwan is an independent nation? I give you an analogy, Taiwan as to mainland China, as Tasmania to mainland Australia! You failed the secondary education. Maybe you have your own text book!
China does not need Australia to support its growth. Authoritarian is to its own people, if it can be overturned, only the time and its own people can make it. Why do we need to spend so much time to concern a thing that has little meaning for our own country and well being. We have a lot to solve within the country.
Lavinia, Keating did not just speak out his wisdom, he had contoured the national long before you even came to the Q & A. It is astonishing, a person did not have comparable contribution to the nation, spoke ill about Keating's wisdom. 1970s' China, what about it, poor, its words carried little weight at the world stage. I get that you are not happy about finally, 1/5 of the humanity found some voice at the world stage. Chinese should have no voice in your opinion.
Australia was a part of "Siege of the International Legations" in Beijing. I disagreed the comments of "overly sensitive, paranoia, get over it" were appropriate. In my view, it was "rap". If you tell a rap victim, you are overly sensitive, paranoia, get over it, no victim would agree with you. It is a scar left on China. Healings take long time. It only has been about 100 years compare to China's 4000-5000 year history, it was short.
Nationalism, do we have? If we do not have, I would say, we should. This is the first thing to learn from China and be a better self.
Lavinia did not know what she was talking about. Both Guoming Dang (now in Taiwan) and CCP (in China) were established for the same ideology. That was "get rid of foreign powers in China".
Talking about the bullying, we bullied the China. All we get now is reaction.
First, we do not have a well thought foreign investment policy at the first place. There were hot Chinese investment moneys flowing into Australia. After that, we were paranoid as if we were going to be totally bought by the Chinese. If I am not wrong, Chinese investment was about 4% of total foreign investments. I say it is small amount. We wanted Chinese money, but, we became loudest barking dog of US for reasons of "human rights". We did not have good records. We accused China for Xinjiang Genocide or Wu Han virus. There was no such evidence found in both occasions.
It was our total failure in Foreign policy. Let alone, US took the advantage when our exports stopped by China. It took the advantage to replace us. China building islands, militarizing them, these are not in our door steps at all and these are not targeting Australia what so ever. Lavania, stop empty claims, you did not do homework enough before coming to National TV. Not coherent, not capable of holding details of recounts. Do your research on NED. As Keating said, we, the Australians should be able to stand alone. We hold the tradition in terms of allies. But we cannot and cannot afford to go blindly with anyone, especially at our cost.
Are you sure the Ughurs are not after our Green card solely? Are there any evidences that there are genocides in Xinjiang. Are these not NED and CIA's propaganda works?
Hong Kong, after US left Hong Kong, those spies has no job anymore, remember Edward Snowden was one of such categories of people. was it true that CIA had to establish a "task force" to allow these returnees to continue to work.
Do you think US will go for the aid of Taiwan? Not at all. Keating is right.
Lavinia has no idea about what she is talking about. China does not want to go to war. US wants China go to war against Taiwan. Taiwan wants only maintain status quo by survey.
Japan will come to Taiwan's aid. Yeah. Japan colonized Taiwan for 50 years. It won't go to Taiwan's aid, it would see it an opportunity to capture it as its colony
We cannot be blindly to align with US. We have to learn from the Europeans. As a person spent significant time in US, US is not the US I knew at the moment. US government spent too much time and energy meddling with other countries' affairs instead of focusing on own growth, problems.
Stan Grant an excellent point, Paul Keating mentioned to make Asia the focal point of trade instead of the Atlantic. Thats because Paul Keating is not a racist, Keating was a mind to considered all colours. Our world is highly populated, we now have to consider business with all nations. China will have to chance it's CCP philosophy to blend in with the world.
Remember China has only been with free trade agreement for the past 42 years. Therefore they still trying to find there through this. It's not China we should fear regarding military defence not should we fear Russia. There are many rogue states that pose a major threat to the world outside these two major powers.
My father always said be cautious of the silent. We must not think of War with any nation, we must think how we must get along with each other to make our future existence successful.
we asean really dont care about australia, u better dont create trouble in this region. without u, the world will be better.
US and its allies carbon footprint figure is not a true figure when it coming out from these Australian who had anti China agenda because if you take into account of China population and factory of the world, and US wars carbon footprint (=more than 140 nations was never taken into consideration in the climate change calculation). If all these are taken into the climate change calculation US and its allies is still the largest carbon emissions.
The brown lady knows nothing about foreign diplomacy.
Lmao
Every body wants peace in the region except USA. Which is not in Asia. Far East Asia is tough, south east Asia can be taken down easily, west Asia already done and most probably the South Asia is next. Don’t be too happy INDIA 🇮🇳. Central Asia is too close to Russia. Forget about the Asia century for America is too powerful.
What should Oz do if US and China hug again ?
An unbalanced comment by individuals
1. gentleman next to Chinese lady .
– Xi offer to Obama is on condition that US retreat from 1st island chain back to Guam inorder not for China to militaries her own islands .Obama never accept the the offer hence there was never any promises .all other claimants also militaries those islands but all the whites keep quiet about this fact
– Indian women never says ASEAN do not want to take sides on US and China .
She lied that Asean welcome AUKUS as she never says both Malaysia and Indonesia voiced objections to AUKUS as it brought nuclear weapons to this region and possibly an arm race
Lastly they claim Chinese spies and apologies in Australia but the panels forget to mention Gringos spies and puppets are all over Australia including parliament The Wolverines and the ASPI funded by the Gringos !
All I can say is that the Lady warmonger speaks so easily for Australia to send her children to defend Taiwan. But if tomorrow her own child got into a road "incident" or school "incident", she'll be the first to wail to the heavens to turn the day one day back.
One child gets lost in the woods and the whole community and media is crying and wailing. No Australian should have the cheek or hypocrisy to volunteer or gamble with their child's life. Dialogue and peace should always be the main consideration .
everything that chinese guest complaints about CHINA does…. do you think the chinese government tells there people to love western countries and america they spread hate speech every day and here on the panel the presenter is complaiining because they asked her do you hate the communist party simply amazing…. any foriegner should have no problem answering yes except for her
This australian of south asian descent is a liar. Im from the philippines, and i guarantee u, asean nations do not welcome aukus and australia purchasing nuclear powered submarines. Shes probably a puppet of america.
Isn't USA who has helped China become the great power as its today? Isn't USA abandonning Taiwan in the past? So now USA is so correct in dealing with China that Australia just needs to follow it??
What's USA's national interest though? Why USA military is everywhere in the world?? Why USA happily increases its trade with China, while Australia is still under Chinese economic sanction?
This is a total joke talking about defending Taiwanese democracy 1st they abundant Taiwan in 1979 to recognize main land China than on UN seat. Throw Taiwan & recognize mainland China…now suddenly they are interested in defending Taiwanese freedom…total BS hipocrisy….🤣🤣🤣😜Irony of Irony…
Stop pretending Australia has an opinion. You are slaves to American corporate power.
AUS must keep this line of subservience to US like a true man of jungle , even if US were to go down the drain in 5 years' time 🤭
This episode is funded in whole or in part by the USA.
Australia needs to find its own voice instead of repeating American BS.
hahaha, loan chieu roi :D:D dang dung kem coi
There is no such thing as allegiance change. It is all about business. But when a person you business with stealthily tried to infiltrate your family, all bets are off.
australia is a lapdog of americans. you have no right to talk about allrgiance.
US is the lagest emmisioner per capital BY FAR!
Why bother with these programs other than manufacturing consent?!!! We all know Australia does what its told by the Five Eyes leadership ie CIA and DC. Alas we are in the same boat here in England sadly.
