Streams of lava flowed from a brand new opening on the Cumbre Vieja volcano on Monday, threatening extra properties within the north-eastern a part of La Palma island because the eruption entered its tenth week.
The Canary Islands Volcanological Institute (INVOLCAN) mentioned one new lava vent opened in a single day on the volcano, as big clouds of smoke billowed into the sky.
As of Saturday, the lava stream had engulfed 1,1151 hectares of land, based on La Palma native authorities, and the eruption had broken or destroyed almost 2,700 buildings, forcing the evacuation of hundreds from their properties on the island.
