MI6 must turn into “extra open” and work with the personal sector to maintain tempo with adversaries akin to China, its chief has stated.
In his first public speech since taking on his position in October 2020, Richard Moore, the top of the Secret Intelligence Service, introduced a “sea-change in MI6’s tradition” of secrecy that can see spies work with expertise firms.
“The altering nature of the threats we face requires a larger diploma of openness from a contemporary intelligence company,” Mr Moore has stated.
“There’s a paradox in play right here – to remain secret, we’re going to need to turn into extra open.”
