China’s anti-corruption watchdog criticized Walmart Inc. on Friday, warning of a client boycott following stories that the world’s largest retailer had stopped stocking merchandise from Xinjiang in its China-based Walmart and Sam’s Membership shops.
Walmart had no “justifiable purpose” for taking down merchandise from a whole area, the ruling Communist Celebration’s Central Fee for Self-discipline Inspection mentioned in a strongly worded assertion Friday. The company added that the transfer was prompted by ulterior motives and confirmed “stupidity and short-sightedness.” The American big-box retailer would undergo the results for its actions, CCDI mentioned.
