United Nations Safety Council members met for an emergency session on Friday to debate Russia’s assault on Zaporizhzhia nuclear energy plant in Ukraine.
Members referred to as on Russia to withdraw its troops from the plant to allow medical remedy for injured employees.
U.S. consultant Linda Thomas-Greenfield mentioned “Russia’s assault final night time put Europe’s largest nuclear energy at grave danger. It was extremely reckless and harmful, and it threatened the safety and security of civilians throughout Russia, Ukraine and Europe.”
The director-general of the Worldwide Atomic Vitality Company Rafael Mariano Grossi participated within the assembly.
He mentioned the company has confirmed no security or safety programs on the plant have been compromised, and that radiation ranges are inside regular.
Russian envoy Vasily Nebenzya denied the Ukrainian allegations and mentioned it’s a part of a “marketing campaign of lies and disinformation” towards Russia.
Members referred to as on Russia to tug its troops again and finish its aggression on Ukrainian territory.
