What next? legalizing terrorism to curb extremism? People need to look out for themselves and protect their kids a lot more carefully in this increasingly insane world. Absolutely nothing makes sense anymore. I have lost all hope on policy makers. Feels like we are all living in a jungle.
So no one needs to take responsibility for themselves
Ah yes because enabling has been working SO well so far…
Your thumbnail with that sign is wrong. Every death is not a drug policy failure. I mean I could start giving examples like a soldier at war. Or a terror*** when they use an explosive device on themselves, pretty sure these deaths wouldn't be because of drug policy failure.
Ban hand guns then legalized hard drugs making it easier for kids to experiment with what happened to Canada
I Am AMAZED at How Many People are Too Stupid to Realize Why Decriminalization is a Good Thing.
I lived in downtown Vancouver last year, and the homeless problem was insane. I can’t imagine how it will be now.. good luck with those higher taxes on welfare programs.
Btw, I’d talk with some of these homeless dudes just to see their perspective on going to work for 7/11 or something instead of asking for money. And they straight up said they didn’t want to work.
It’d be crazy if the bc gov was the suppliers of these illicit (well legal now) drugs now lol but it’s probably mostly about how their prisons are over run with drug users now and they need the space. But what do I know.
I hope everyone in the comments experiences and does psilocybin mushrooms and finds meaning and happiness!
So personal responsibility is meaningless now? People take the risk associated with drug use and it's someone else's fault? Get it together people
lol. NDP "logic". When the clowns run the Circus..
Finally something from the government gives me hope! Steps in the right direction.
more comments than likes, we know the deal.. things in Canada are going downhill
No more job for police and lawyers now😂😂😂
Alot of youngens think “ legal” means not harmful. Having the conversation with my son and his friends (13 yrs old) about weed legalization was frustrating because in their head, it is “legal” so how could it be harmful?
I lost two siblings in the last year and a half to drug overdoses, and have another sibling heavy into addiction. My son and his friend know of the losses, and understand the dangers of drugs, but still process it as they wouldn’t legalize weed if it was harmful…..so how will the young process hard drugs?
I feel from my experience watching addiction unfold in my family, and living with those struggling in my family, and losing family members to addiction….. I can say that BC needs to put money into mental health, rehabilitation and housing. They keep making poor decisions on where to put the money with quick fixes, not long term.
Synthetics shouldn’t be allowed. They should legalize & regulate Natural psychedelics instead.
What are you even talking about? How are "black, indigenous, and women" not recieving THE SAME BLOODY access to programs and counseling when they leave jail? Show me how that's even a thing. You mean they disproportionally don't show up? Well that must be the systems fault right? Maranatha.
Anyone paying attention? "No more handguns for Canadians" followed by " How the RCMP screwed up while a guy went house to house killing people" But don't worry folks, you don't need firearms to protect your family, just call the police. Maranatha!
Our Government is here to kill us all and profit from it
Really hope everyone who pushed/supports this experiences the Fentynyl deaths they deserve.
Doing so helps eliminate drug addiction when people aren't demonized. Proven elsewhere where they did this and the mental health pandemic went away in those places
7:31 "the drug trade is the engine of gun violence" so…wouldn't it make more sense to limit the amount of illegal drugs coming into Canada?
That's the most pathetic thing that I've ever heard in my life, decriminalising drug use. Is Canada literally high right now, they can't think straight.
Instead of safe injection sites. Build hospitals for rehabilitation. Not just for 30 days make its 3 or 6 months. Make it mandatory if you have drugs on you. I have a safe injection site near my home. It's sad to see these people high everywhere. Smoking Crack in bus stops, on people decks.
chrystia freeland and her obedience to israel has all the Canadians hoodwinked by snapping it's backbone
Trudeau is a child holds vendetta against people who disagree , we can't have this Canada he needs to go , he is a lunatic please Canada , we are so much better then this , we know the difference he never wants to end mandates because it gives him power , he is a entitle boy doesn't know how to take no for an answer , looks like he sold his soul to the WEF , he is just like spoiled little brat , you can see he is so entitled never worked a hard day in his life , how can he relate to the people he can't in impossible, he is out of touch with the people, not an intelligent person its embarrassing ..
They are just TRYING to destroy the world.
Our government decriminalizes the worst drugs that poison, maim, and kill, and leave out other beneficial drugs that might cure them, like psilocybin or Ayahuasca. It enables the drug addicts problem, without ever trying to fix it. They require to be off of these toxic drugs, and not taking even more of them. Last time I ever vote for the NDP, or their partners ,the Liberals. Of course these addicts want free drugs, and government provided as well. Give them Cannabis and tell them to be happy with it.
A forest fire is started by a small flame. The decriminalization of these highly addictive drugs will encourage more use.
Little John went to talk to Trudeau about his dad.
"And how is your dad today John?"
"He is not at all well Mr. Trudeau, he's very sick. He is terribly hooked on drugs and he needs them more and more.
He took too much the other week and they had to send him to the hospital"
"I'm surprised to hear you say such a thing John! You dad is not sick and he is not addicted to drugs at all! He only THINKS he is sick and dependent on them. If he uses positive thinking then the problem will just go away!"
"Thanks Mr Trudeau! I'll be sure to let my dad know what you said! He'll be so relieved at what you told me!".
A month later Trudeau sees John in the street and stops to talk to him.
"And how is you dad now John?"
"He thinks he is dead Mr. Trudeau."
If you agree with this, don't be a hypocrite: open your house, garden and yard to allow people to shoot up on your own property. Go the whole hog. Let them get high and OD in front of your own children and grandparents. (God forbid!) If you don't agree then you are a hypocrite and a NIMBY.
People who argue in favour of this are likely to have a taste for drugs themselves and don't really care about the fate of addicts. It is heartless selfishness and naked self interest disguised as virtue signalling. It being illegal triggers both guilt and shame because drug addiction is morally wrong and you know it. Remove the law, removes the stigma but the people taking it will STILL have deep shame whilst doing it because they know INSIDE it is wrong and they shouldn't be doing it. That's called a CONSCIENCE. The inbuilt moral code we all possess to separate good from evil. You can strip it from the law but not from the hearts of people. They will still know it is wrong even while they lie there dying from the last hit. People who OD tend to die alone, they rarely have family around them holding their hands. They will die cold, alone, shaking on the tarmac while the whole world looks away. They slip away unnoticed by people as they step over their dying body. Would you wish this fate on a dog? To die on the street alone?
Lethbridge City Council and Shannon Phillips of NDP tried this a few years back. It was a miserable to say the least, property crimes and EMS responses sky rocketed. The whole City became a destination of legal enablement. All the addicts are someone’s kids, cannot cure this problem with more drugs and crime that goes with it.
There was used drug paraphernalia all over the city that was allowed to leave the injection site and people, kids were injured by this debris. Lethbridge.
San Fransicko but in BC. Also these gun laws will do nothing to stop any crime.
Drugs is very danger for the human, we should know it and we should take care about our family
That makes sense: the government which wanted me removed from society for refusing a forced medical procedure is totally qualified to make unilateral decisions about gun ownership.
Woke Hitler is certainly not a corrupt unqualified clown, as he appears to be.
So Dr. Bonnie Henry thinks that women who are in prison being punished for the crimes they committed shouldn't have to suffer the disruptions in their lives due to the crime they committed so therefore we should legalize the crime they committed so they don't have to suffer. Makes perfect sense.
The whole drug trade is an industry that is slowly being embraced by government. There is a lot of public funds that go to safe injection sites, methadone clinics, and health care personnel etc etc..it’s getting too big to fail.Government will soon be selling the hard drugs to the public like they did with weed.
Neetu garcha is gorgeous
Boohoo gun owners get over it
I don't understand how on one hand you believe making firearms illegal will reduce unneeded deaths and on the other 'decriminalization' of opioids will do the same? Am I alone here?
For people that live in British Columbia if you disagree with this pilot project which we know will be here forever, it takes 2 minutes to send an email to your area MLA to voice your opinion.
This is a way to allow them to overdose and die.
If people want to use … OK use … However my tax dollars should never be used to serve a self inflicted problem.
From pandemic to drugs hahahaha canada is a joke. Any of you thinking of moving to this country think twice lmao
See Sri Lanka for solution for political corruption
Hey! Make people take responsibility! Not other people
Lumping cannabis together with hard drugs is a mistake. When someone realizes that it is fairly harmless they tend to believe the laws are wrong about more dangerous drugs.
This is so stupid ,
Start building rehab centers and do not release them until they find housing……OMG this is a huge mistake!
Lock them up.
Or take all the confiscated handguns and give them to the addicts while your at it.
Youre putting us all in danger …. i agree with the handgun decision. But i disagree with legalizing lethal drugs…. dum dums.
Giving up , thats your solution?
Thanks for all the hard work solving this epidemic….the real one.
Never voting liberal again
Just put more fentynal in the drugs problem solved. Stop normalizing drugs. Weak willed skids. The real ones that should have been aborted.
